help... i am getting a vac insted of boost
i have a 95 civic with a 95 GSR swap. i just installed a T3/T4 turbo and when i turn my engine on, my boost gauge shows a 20 vacum at idle and when i get to about 4000-4500 RPMs it goes to about 10 vac. and my BOV doesn't let off any pressure also at idle it runs just a little ruff. am i just not letting the turbo spool up enough or do i have a vac leak. this is my first turboed vehicle and my first turbo install.
how would i press. check my pipes, i didn't hold the gas peddle at 4500 i just taped it and at 4500 i let it go. i have not had much time to play with it yet i had to do some things but i didn't know if the vac. reading i got was normal. as for the rest of my set up i have a GSR with a t3/t4 turbo 760cc DSM injectors 255 fuel pump i have a fuel pre. reg. but have not installed it yet. i took the intake off and removed the butterfly's inside for better air flow. i have stock fuel rail i also have ZEX spark plugs.
k, well the vacuum at idle is normal. Have you put any load on the car, or is this just free revving at idle and not actually driving the car in gear? If so, YOU WILL NOT BUILD BOOST. Get it tuned as well.
THEN drive it and it will build.
THEN drive it and it will build.
no i haven't driven the car yet it is still on jack stands but i am going to lower it today, i sent my ECU off with all the specs of my engine and complete turbo set up from the injectors to the intake manifold mods i did. the guy that programed and chipped my ECU told me he did a good enough map to where i could drive it but he said if i want more performance i would have to get it dyno tuned
