I heard that since i'm increasing the thickness of the gasket i have to change the cam gear settings since its thicker....

There is no optimal setting for 2 separate vehicles. All motors will respond differntly. Case in point we dynoed a 2000 PY ITR with a Custom Turbo kit from Inline Pro with an InlinePro headgasket, they set his cam gears to Negative 2 degress on both intake and exhaust cam. After we set them back to 0 on both we gained 25whp. Then made an additional 15 whp with Tuning of the Hondata and cam gears. The exhaust was set at -2 nad the intake at 0, no other changes affected anything. Get it on a dyno and tune the gears. I made mad power retarding my exhaust cam gear -2 and intake +2 then swapped on a Skunk 2 IM and Holley 68mm TB and the only cam gear change worth anything was retarding my exhaust cam -2. All motors will respond differently. I made 12whp on my buddies JDM GSR motor by advancing the exhaust cam gear 2 degrees, he wanted to originally retard to increase the overlap. HTH

When raising the height of the head with a thicker gasket, the cam timing will in turn be affected. The use of adjustable cam gears is needed to set the cam timing back to TDC. It is necessary to put the cams and bottom end at TDC before putting the timing belt back on, therefore the gears may need to be adjusted and may not "read" 0, but the engine will be at TDC. Once TDC is achieved, then you can tune the gears on a dyno with the previous settings as your "zero" setting. The PY ITR was not "tuned" with the gears set at 2 and 2, it was just so the motor was set at TDC. So with the gears reading both 0, they motor was actually 2 degrees advanced on both cams.

set the cam gears at 0 deg and set timing at 16 deg. after putting the gasket on it will change your ignition timming. turn the cam gears until your timming is 16 deg again and that is the 0 deg on your cam gear.

I realized what you did since milling the head or deck will retard the timing and putting a thicker head gasket on would in turn advance timing, so I guess you guys have figured approx 2 degrees affected by the thicker HG. I was just stating no 2 engines will like the same cam gear settings. I have nothing but respect for InlinePro and all you guys accomplishments. So no bashing from me. Just get the car on the dyno and look at the whole torque curve and horeseower curve instead of just peak #s. I dynoed mine and lost maybe 2 whp but gained 12 lb-ft of torque once and I felt is was a better trade off.
