Default H23 Turbo HELP

ok i have a 95 prelude si, automatic, i want to change the tranny to 5-speed and im also gonna go turbo on it. i just want to know is it safe to run a turbo on a stock engine. i want to run like 6 or 7 psi at first. will that mess up my engine if i drive my car everyday. Like i want to tune up my engine later and then just go higher on the psi's. right now im kicking out 170hp . thnx

The piston rings on the H series motors are usually the first thing to go when boosted. First of all, do a cylinder leakdown test to make sure you have good compression. If you do, you should be ok to boost but I would not recommend boosting over 8psi on stock internals though. Kits from drag and fmax can simply bolt on and run 8psi safely... But fine tuning on the dyno is the key in having a healthy long lasting motor.

With a standard drag gen 4 turbo kit you should be looking at around 250whp and a high 13 second quarter mile time if you run slicks and have the other basic bolt ons.
