Default GT4088 on LS/VTEC - Power to expect?

Playing around with the following setup in a few days and wondering what kinda power we should expect?

81.5MM Bore LS-VTEC
Eagle Rods (Bolt Upgrade)
Arias 10:1 Pistons
Stock GSR Head with Comp Cam Springs/Retainers
GSR Cams
Edelbrock VictorX Intake Manifold
64mm Thottle Body
Long Tube Turbo Manifold with 4" Exhaust
980cc Injectors
Precision GT4088 with .83A/R
Turbosmart 38mm Wastegate x 2
Car has all the supporting Fuel Requirements and will be tuned with Hondata s300 and C16 for fuel.

Wondering what to expect at 14, 17psi and 25psi? I wanna see how far we can push the stock block with just pistons and rods. I know people have made 500+ on stock pistons/rods before, so this setup is still ahead of the game due to the forged pistons and rods.

I just dynoed my car with a similar set up ,(I bought the shortblock from a friend of mine and JDogg's)

81.5mm Bore stock sleeve LS block
81.5mm Wiseco Pistons 9:1ish
Eagle Rods
Block Guard
Stock Head with REV Valvesprings and retainers
Edelbrock Victor X Intake Manifold
RPM Services 70mm TB
1600cc PTE Injectors
Full Race ProAm Top mount with divided collector and twin wastegates 44mm Tials
4" Full Race DP
GT4088R with 1.06 A/R turbine housing
AEM EMS 1040U box

Car made 500whp with 20psi with a very very very conservative tune A/F was 10.9:1 and timing very conservative. We dynoed it at Tempest Racing at the NOPI party, we had another car to get on the dyno and my car had SOME THINGS LEFT TO finish on it so I could run the next day so the tune was only about 70% done according to the tuner. We only made like 5 real full pulls when we pulled her off

Hopefully this helps

You should be fine there then. How bout you just come back in a few days and tell us what it made? It easier than the guessing game.

That is with a built head and cams right? We are trying to use as much stock stuff as possible. This is a budget motor, built with used stuff we just had sitting around at ETD Racing.

Kinda started as a 'What if we just grabbed those used parts, with those used parts and slapped them in that block, and used that, and modified this" You know the deal...

We were a little bored, and decided to play a bit! Probably use the Air/Water setup from my D series setup with this also.

My set up is basically the same. I am waiting for RLZ Engineering to get done with my sleeved block and ported head(hook up deal so of course paying customers come first). So I bought a JDM B16A motor and was gonna use that then a buddy said "Hey I got an LS block with pistons and rods in it, we can trade and some money" The B16A block was for one of his customers so.

Yeah.. I have a fully ported head with flat valves ready to go on, with Civic Type R cams, and we decided to leave it off, and throw the stock GSR on instead. Really wanna just have fun with a very simple setup.

In that case dont expect to make a bunch of power, unless you live in Texass where the temps around the dynos are hot...

Are you saying this regarding the A/W setup? On the dyno last time, I was able to have intake air temps less than dyno room air temp. The ice box really did its thing.

The motor is a LS/VTEC with Forged Pistons 10:1 and Eagle Rods. Sound like it is VERY VERY similar to Boostfed's setup, and he made 500.

there is no doubt it will make 500whp easily. I only said that b/c for some reason people think gt40s can make more power than what they think. The Texass temps was an inside joke.

Cool.. You had me confused.... I hear that 750ish is about the max for the GT4088 with a larger exhaust housing on a FULLY built 84mm B series. I'd like to see if we can get around 600hp from this thrown together setup.

How much did you make on the GT40? Care to share?

When I purchased this turbo from Precision they told me 750hp was no problem.
You know never to believe anything anyone ever says in regards to Horspower promises.

I'm hoping to get this setup to a dyno in a few weeks.. I only get 1 day a week to play with this stuff now. Job gets in the way of my fun now....

750 flywheel hp, no problem at all.

I made 650whp and trapped 152.5

Joe simpson made 670whp and trapped 153.xx

I haven't seen anyone trap any higher than that with that turbo yet...

What do all the GT40R 800hp dyno charts have in common?
