Default Greddy Profec B Spec II boost level warning??

I can't figure this out to save the life of me. I have my boost level warning set to go off at 20psi and when I get into boost it starts flashing red and beeping at me even though I'm never getting over 14-15psi. What gives??

I'm reading the boost levels from the controller itself, not a boost guage. With the Greddy you have an option to view the last peak boost level. So it has to be something with the controller itself.

Hmmmm is it in percent levels just like the boost controls itself? I was under the impression that the warning level was in psi.....

according to their manual you can switch between kpa and psi settings, and i think psi would display without a dot.. so 14 psi would be 140? now.. i think you set the warning level in kpa.. you also have an option to use the limiter that is in %. maybe you by mistake you thought limiter menu was warning.. either way, 14psi should be no more than 1.0 kpa and i'm not 100% accurate but its nowhere near 1.4kpa

in my opinion warning is useless if you're not using limiter which really works, you just have to set it high enough, if you set it too high it might retard way too much and slow your car down, a little might not be enough and you'll overboost, just enough will give you time to back out from throttle. that feature wont' work if you have a leak on wastegate line.

Warning is set in PSI, but the problem with the profec b that I ran into was when you had a fast spooling turbo, it would go off when the boost came on to fast. It would only flash when it reached the warning level under gradual acceleration but when you laid into it, it would flash as soon as it started spooling.

I never found a way around it so I turned it off.

This could very well be my issue as well then. I have an SC50 which isn't THAT fast of a spooling turbo, but the boost does come on fairly quick once it starts spooling. I hit full boost around 4000rpms. I guess I might have to go home and just try to turn it off. I didn't even know you could do that.

Very well could be. When I was using a T04B with a BB center, I couldn't use it. When I rebuilt and went bigger with a SC6176E, I had no problems because the spool time on it was slower and it wouldn't react as fast.

I'm going to see if I can shut the boost warning feature off tonight. Been a busy week.
