the pressure will be regulated from the new External Wastegate. It works similar to the internal in a sense that the external wastegate is going to get it's signal from the turbo's compressor through the vac line. I think that is the answer you were looking for.

weld the flapper shut, and run the vacuum line from the compressor housing to the new wastegate. If you have a boost controller, your setting will now change depending on the spring that your new external wastegate has.

doesnt have to be off the compressor housing. could be off the im. and depending on what downpipe you use, like ive seen some 5bolt downpipes have just the turbine housing hole on the flange and not the wastegate hole that recircs back into the downpipe so that would also block the flapper.

He'd want that flapper 'stuck' shut some how, by welding or wedging the flapper's swing arm closed. If its allowed to swing open, despite the hole behind it closed (like a DSM turbo could be), he'd have an area that fills with carbon. Not keeping it shut will also disrupt flow.

If you're new to the game, you should REALLY be reading the turbo FAQ's. Google it on google, the beesandgoats version explains 99% of the normal n00b questions.
