I talked to Arlon today....If we get around 10 buyers, I can get the turbos for a little over $400. IT will eventually get cheaper as there are more buyers....

I can get different sizes and specs, but I was thinking about it and it would probably be easier to get just one size that would be good for most applications...

They will all come with 4bolt disharge outlet(on the turbine housing)unless you ask for the 5 bolt.

let us(everyone) try to find a size that'll work with many applications...but if you're set on a certain size, then that can be worked out too(no charge, unless it's a huge turbo)

 

well i have a LS motor (6800rpm redline) and a .63a/r would make me have a higher spool up time and less time in boost (because of the low redline). so i need a .48a/r.

cyanide seems to be spec'ing his turbo for a B16 (edit b18b) motor with the .48 exhaust a/r.

maybe we can settle on 2 configurations.

my vote is for t3/t04e with exhaust .63 a/r and .54 compressor wheel with 4 bolt flange.

 

What are the trim sizes for the turbo that comes with the drag kits?

 

it can vary but for a GSR its usually .63 exhaust and .54 compressor. someone can verify this

b18a,b, d-series: .48 stage3, .50 trim .50 a/r

i will call the shop tomorrow and verify what we need to specify for each person's turbo. i dont know if garrett uses the same 'stages' as a turbonetics. why would you want a stage 2 over a stage 3?

Im in! The only problem is, I dont know what spec turbo would be good for my application: fully built LS b18 sleeved to 84.5mm. I just started reading Maximum Boost to learn more about it, but this is a good price and I would like to get it. Thanks for your input!

 

go with a .63a/r since you hvae 84.5mm (2.0L). i would recommend a .57 or .54 trim compressor with a .60a/r.

 

i was looking at the drag gen 3 kit for my LS, would it be cheaper to piece together my own kit starting with this turbo? I think drag uses a garrett turbo.

 

i think drag uses a turbonetics turbo.
