Fuel Pump all the sudden loud as hell??...seems to be running lean
I get in my car start it up, sounds like its running on 3 cyclinders and the fuel pump is just loud as hell, going crazy. I let out the clutch a hair and I get that nice thudding noise like its not firing on all the cyclinders. I'm throwing code #43(fuel system), fuel pump is a walbro 255hp that has so far ran fine for 3 weeks and now this???? what the hell is wrong, its never been this loud and its got 1/2 tank of gas(gets louder with less gas)!?!?!? The other possiblitly is I blew up another map sensor even tho i have a firewall mounted missing link and 4 check valves before it hits the map sensor, but I know I already blew one up...maybe this is another.
The pump is in the tank...too much trouble to drop the tank to check the pump...arrrr, its no fun. This morning, drove to work, still getting the fuel code but fuel pump quieter than ever?!?!?! wtf?!?!?!? But its still breaking up and not geting fuel....I hit 3000rpms in 2nd gear and it started to break up....i'm gonna wait for my aeromotive fpr and v-afc to come teusday and install those before I got ahead and drop the tank. Maybe I killed my stock fpr or somethin...i dunno!?!?!?! Ohh and I'm gonna get some new injectors, I'm running stock accord 240cc injectors, so maybe that isn't helping either....gonna try some 370's..
anyone know where to get rc 370's for cheap?!?!?! and I need them kinda quickly!!!!

slow94accord: I recomend fixing this probelm before you install anything else. If you install the v-afc to "fix" the cutting out problem all your doing is masking a problem and whatever the actual problem is, it's bound to fail and you'll be rite back where you are rite now.....trying to figure out whats wrong. It could be a wireing problem. I've heard that some aftermarket pumps are loud (mines quiet). but as far as being loud only sometimes it sounds like it may be loose or rubbing on something (just a guess) so it only makes more noise periodically.

Actually i do believe that you have to drop the tank on the accord in order to change the pump. I've never done it buti heard that you have to. Plus he even says that it's no fun so i assume he's done it before (inorder to get the pump in)..

I read a while back about some guy doing a turbo install on an accord and he had pics of him dropping the tank to install the pump. shitty for them lucky for us
...mine took 20 min to install

Yea, accords you have to drop the tank...there is no way to get to the pump from inside the car....well actually maybe I should just make an opening for?!..make it easier to mess with, I run fully gutted in the back anyway, i'm gonna go to the junkyard and get another cover like the one for the fuel level sending unit and cut a hole for it over the fuel pump!!!!. But its a walbro pump, just plugs right in, no wiring was required, very simple to install just a pain to re-intall the tank by yourself.
Back to the real problem, I'm thinking if I install the aftermarket fpr, that may be the problem and now running 240cc injectors when stock this motor has 345cc's.

Pulled the plugs, they are completely black but its not like its caked on there...just black all over. What does this mean???...its still throwing the fuel code and feels like its only running on 3 cyclinders at times.
black like carbon or oily black like burnt oil?
If they are carbon black then it's most likely fouled from being overly rich. A nicely tuned engine will have dark grey plugs. Try changing your plugs out they could just be fouled...
