Back then, intercoolers were in the $1,000's + but ever since people started to make intercoolers in their garages ... the prices have dropped.

Check out Ebay, I've seen a bunch for $200-$250:

31in for total = too long. I need it to all fit in 30in.

Me and a friend bought two intercoolers and two radiators from Streetimports.
You can definatly tell they are constructed by hand, but the quality is good; just
not show quality. Customer service was great, and prices were good. Definatly
not top of the line stuff, but cant beat it for the price.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

There is a special H-T "backdoor" to the streetimports website, and the 18x9x2" intercooler is on sale for under $200 right now...

Here is a warning to you. All those ebay intercoolers you see 90% are garbage. Johnnyracecar.com intercoolers i have seen up close and they look like crap, shitty welds uneven fins, and super thin. What i did was get on ebay and find someone with a good quality used intercooler like HKS or Greddy. I bought a Greddy type 24 from ebay in great condition and it was only $400 shipped. Check it often you may find a good deal.

what the hell do you expect for $250 and under? if it does the job, then it's worth it. although jdmtegra666 is right about one thing though, on ebay they don't show you but a lot of those FMIC have straight through design cores which don't cool for ****. these are cores where if you look through one end you can see right through to the other side.

$200 is a great price for what your getting. This This is a great option for those of us
who dont want to pay top dollar for a show piece. Honestly though, i bought the exact
intercooler posted above, and its a lot nicer looking than i expected for the money.
Again, great price on a functional part
