Default Finally killed it! Lame vid inside

Well after boosting a bone stock jdm b16 at 8 psi, I can say I have officially killed it. It’s no big surprise. I have been doing all the things that you should not do for 9 months, boosting 5th up mountains, tuned w/o a dyno just reading plugs and A/F and just basically driving it like I stole it. I noticed a lack of power lately and today on my way home from work I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Smoke was just pouring out the valve cover breather. I killed the rings or blew the headgasket. It was a relatively conservative tune though I wonder if running the E15 had anything to do with it. In boost I was running about 11.80 at 19*. Oh well I have a new bored block sitting in the garage. The new set up will be.
Wiseco 81.50mm
Eagle rods
Arp head studs
Gsr cams
I still need spring and retainers. Should be fun. I’ll be running 12lbs low and 18lbs high on my gt2871 and I’ll tune it on a dyno this time.

Here is a lame video of smoke coming out the valve cover vent.

yea same as around here. 10%...although i didn't notice much change if any in cars running the new ethanol mix before and after. The ethanol should have made a change, but I guess it already had a high enough percentage in it in the first place that the 10% really isn't changing much.

My engine used to smoke a bit like that after hard runs. I had a breather filter on the valve cover and that much if not more smoke would come out.

I just kept on driving it though. I thought it was normal. lol. I still had good compression too.

I say keep on flogging that **** until it REALLY gives out.

should of saw my when i blew my engine at the dyno
10psi on a stock b16 t3/t4 57trim. sad part was it only made 240hp/130 or 140tq. weak sauce b16s!

white smoke blew out everywhere from the valve cover. oil was dripping out of the downpipe. took it out for a spin after we got it off the dyno. smoke cover both sides of the road. my end up being 4 cracked ringlands.

I thought you put a built motor into your hatch

Thats nothing though, there was that 530whp stock b16 that kept going a while w/cracked ringlands, and the tard that boosted my old b18 hatch blew it in a day. White & blue smoke (alternating lol) like a military smoke screen, barely could accellerate at WOT... No, you could do way worse. Its good you're saving it though - killing a motor needlessly is just stupid. Unless you're in cali, since people use b16 shortblocks & d16's as doorstops

Just a follow up. All that said ringlands, go ahead and pat yourself on the back.

Here’s a carnage pic. Both pistons #3 and #4 let go. Every thing else looks good though. I’ll throw it back together as a spare engine, just need a piston and a new set of rings. I’ll probably start building the new engine tomorrow, this time forged pistons.
