Default exhaust piping expanders?

Do tail pipe expanders work to make slip fits for exhausts? So like can I get an expander and piping and make slip fit connections so I can use exhaust clamps to make my exhaust and downpipe fit together. Turbo related because I need to do this so my down pipe can fit onto my turbo and I can make a 2.5 in or 3in exhaust. TIA

Thanks, the reason I asked and I should've stated it was because the description of the part says " To smoothen out u clamp crimps in exhaust piping" and nothing more, but says it works for 1 ?/? to 2 7/8" piping diameter. I will get one now that I know. Custom exhaust coming in the near future, too.
