Default EGT Question

I have a auto meter egt gauge and my temp readings seem kinda high at highway driving. The probe could be a little further from the turbo but i dont think it would make that much of a difference. So just wondering what ur guys' average temps are thatnks

What temperatures are you reading? I have gone to 1800 when lean burning.

How accurate is that for tuning timing? Anyone know?

Woah... I am at 1200 at 70-80 mph and ~14.7 afr.

I've yet to see anyone with definitive answers on good/bad afr for different conditions (WOT/Highway etc...)

Probe Location: ~2-3 inches from head in runner 3.

I have my ECU set to run 15.5:1 at high vacuum. Saves on gas. Makes high EGTs at times.

I run about that at crusing also... never with a high egt though... I suspect its your ignition timing being farely aggressive for cruising?

well my car is very well tuned. Im runnig at cruising a 14.5to1 a/f mix and at wide open throttle 10.5to1 ( which i think is overly safe). the temps seem pretty consistant. the only thing i ****** hate is when im in high boost and i return to normal city driving ill come to a stop and my car will stall but my temps dont seem any different. amybe plugs are loading up with to much fuel?
