Either way be sure to bevel the edges on both sides of the hole with a stone or what have you. Also be sure to work the tap and use plenty of lube. Aside from heating the manifold this will give you every chance to prevent cracking overtime. Nature of the design though...

absolutely. Get it on the leanest cylinder (#3) and call it a wrap. I've had one EGT for 15 years. It didn't matter. Being redundant just to be redundant is....well redundant, and doesn't give you any more information than from one. You're not running meth/water individually, so there's no point. Just one will do. 

that's fine,if you choose, but again.. you won't see much change in the controlability. As much as you Airmen love to compare cars to planes.. It just ain't the same. 
But in this case your equipment (specifically your exhaust manifold) will skew your readings. Use one, or change exhaust manifolds to one that supports that type of monitoring.
