my buddy is selling a p28 ecu. he has a 28pin chip in there but its NOT a chrome/chrome pro chip. i want to run chrome. my question is, isnt chrome a 16 pin chip? or do they have 28pin chips? this ECU will be going in a 01' ITR turbo.
sorry if its confusing. i didnt really know how to word my question

It will work..almost all honda ecus use the 28 pin...it also doesnt matter if its program for crome or not...you can erase the chip, and its fresh new chip...so you can burn any .bin file you want...

If its a erasable chip
But most are these days. If there is no little window on the top of the chip then its erasable / rewrittable. Though if there is a window your better off flushing the chip down the toilet because very few people have UV erasers and its a pain to reprogram them because of that.

If you let the chip set out in the sun for a day...it will sometimes erase them...
but your better off with an amtel or sst chip!
