ebay turbo kit??
some of the parts as listed above are ok to use. as far as using an ebay turbo? idk. there is a thread in the forced induction forum about ebay turbo kits. also search it. there are alot of people that have had great luck with them. others not so lucky. i guess you definately want to stay away from the ssautochrome kits. they don't use weld to assemble their parts on the turbo itself. its an apoxy, when heated up becomes brittle, and can shatter over time. which i think might be an issue with all ebay turbos? idk. search garrett t3/t4 on ebay, sometimes you can get a good deal. look in the marketplace here. a friend of mine just bought a garrett t3/t4 with blue top injectors and a resistor box for 200 bucks. intercooler kits on ebay are around 150 or so. so for 350 bucks you can have a decent set up i would think. here check this out http://www.hondamarketplace.com/forumdisplay.php?f=39
we just send back two brand new ones
one didn t want to spin seems like parking brakes r on.
the other has so much shaft play the blades r scrapping the housing
China is a BIG country. Just because there is the possibility that Garrett may have had some production facilities in one area, doesn't mean its next door to the chincy-made crap. Different facilities have different standards using the same workers. I don't like it myself, but I'm also realistic as to how some of these things work.
If you can't afford to turbo it right, then you won't be able to afford a rebuild if it detonates or boost spikes. Things happen, and if you don't have the money to fix it you shouldn't do it to begin with.
I have a 94 civic and im planning on buying a ebay turbo kit its not that there cheap cuz 6 or 7 hundro isn't cheap for me lol ya know, im gonna run about 5 psi just to be safe and change some little things and work my way up to pistons and eagle rods. but i say go for it
I ran 11.7 on a ebay kit. turbo went out after 3k miles or so. Iv also had the same ebay turbo before and it lasted over a year and a half. now Im going with a garrett unit and hoping for a little more power.
if you do go ebay get a oil restrictor for the turbo and cast iron mani not one of the cheesy tubular manifolds.

totally agree with you. thats why when I went with my kit I did it cheap to have money to fix it if needed. if I had an expensive kit and things went wrong IDK what I would do.

your better off saving up and having a high compression n/a motor
"budget" and modifying a 4 cylinder do not go together. "budget" and all motor REALLY does not go together.
hey i was on budget and my lil crx it banging with a turbo kit off ebay all i did was but a new turbo and wastgate and im was good.im going to change the mani soon allso but tell then ill be rollin with the long mani.
I disagree. budget and knowledge and know how can make things work. if you do all the work your self and get cheap parts it really isn't hard to put together a somewhat fast car for cheap.
I have a chinacharger from EBAY, the 50 trim t3/4, it works very well, does 15 psi and accelerates with plenty of power.
Mine, when it is on idle will spin and if you turn the car off it will keep on spinning for a while. One thing is you must install the restrictor, the ebay turbo does not like too much pressure.
When I received my turbo kit I used everything, knock off BOV, wastegate, 15 dollar manual boost controller, aluminum radiator and fan, BUT one thing I threw away was the turbo oil feed line. I did buy a good custom made hydraulic line from a truck machine shop, in fact they even tested the ebay oil line and straight up told me that it was junk.
I think ebay kits are reliable, another thing is watch out for cracked manifolds, so sometimes it is a good idea to have a support brace under the turbo, weld it or whatever so when there is a lot of heat the manifold doe not carry the weight.

if i can get one for 220 bucks i can care less about bb turbos.
[QUOTE=GrizzlyMan;42073809]Mine I even opened up the complete turbo, and you know they say you must mount it back the same way as it is balanced bla bla bla, I put everything back and the turbo runs good.[/Qi stript my bolts holes on my compressor side and my turbo still runs good.lol
i have a ebay kit on my car, i just have to say oil restrictor. im running 550 and ive tuned it myself and still running strong after 6 months besides the turbo smoking
I bought mine from Ilovetacotaco, I think they usually run like 150.00.
