ebay RFL bov causing compressor surge
Hey guys, just tuned my integra the other night at 5 pounds so far, and only at partial throttle im getting compressor surge. i don't see how to adjusted the bov because it doesn't have any settings. any idea? maybe try to find a softer spring? maybe its this ebay piece of ****?
bov is seeing vacuum from a vacuum manifold from the brake booster line.
any ideas would be highly appreciated

take the cap off and take a washer or 2 out of the valve and go from there. if there are no washers, make sure the vac source is good, and if it is, thats the way it is.

Change your vac. source. I had the same problem with the vac block .. put it to the intake mani. .you'll be good to go!. I think what was happening was all the stuff i had on the block about 5 things all needed vac and i was only pulling 15hg of vac and it was not enough for the bov. Its best for them to have there on dedicated source any way

so cutting a couple coils off of it, made it softer?
vac source is fine. im pulling like 22 inches. I had it teed at first off fpr and it was doing it, then i bought a vac manifold.

i know that.......he hee. my fingers disagreed with my hnead.
yes there is one spring, and yes cutting a coil or 2 will soften it up BUT it may open under boost.

maybe ill give cutting a coil spring a try. Id hate to loose boost though. how are you suppose to soften them up if you have compressor surge without cutting a coil?

yup my BOV valve was a red RFL Type H or something, but yeah anyhow i cut the spring and shortened it up and it works fine, now and then i will get some surge but it's at very low boost levels and it only happens a certain way i let off the throttle. i started by cutting a half of a coil off mine cause u don't want it too short
