Re: Eagle Rod Help Quick (itr206)
The standard rods with the 2000 bolts are good to about 600-650 wheel HP. They are a great street-application rod. The upgraded bolt-equipped rods are good to about 1200 flywheel HP. There is no problem using them in a street motor - they're just overkilkl for 90% of the people out there.
The part number for the upgraded rods are: CRS5430A3DCA (for B18C). |

Re: Eagle Rod Help Quick (b18bturbo)
i called Eagle and asked thme , tey said the reason why these fail is becuase people over tq them , they said they dont reccmend he upgraded ones until 700+ hp, he even double check ed with other techs with me on the line . He said he wouldnt tell me that unless he was comfy with it, becuase id be bitching at hiom when they break
anyone else running the stadnard ones? |
Re: Eagle Rod Help Quick (itr206)
I agree I think most people on here that have had problems with them. It has not been the rods, but installer error. Many people on here will vouch for Eagle rods.

Re: Eagle Rod Help Quick (JMinSi2000)

Re: Eagle Rod Help Quick (itr206)
I thought a lot of the people that actually had problems with the rod bolts were having problems at really high rpms like in the 10k range. It was not so much a hp problem but the mass of the the piston and rod at that speed breaking the bolts.
