Basically the dump tube routes the gas straight down to the ground, either that or it can be routed into the downpipe. I would not advise keeping an open wastegate for long as the direct heat can damage sensitive components.

AC tubing, AC compressor, etc...... that is if the dump points that way.

that's my problem.. I still have my AC. is there a special spot on the exhaust that you have to weld on to or attach a flange? I meant is does it need to be couple inches after the turbo or anywhere ? I'll try to post a pics.. to clear what i'm trying to say....

I had the wastegate mounted vertically, with no dump tube, right when I put the kit in. I drove home, boosted like twice in short bursts, popped the hood when I was home and discovered that my FAL fan was completely melted from where the exhaust was dumping out....and I barely even boosted.

Get a Drag dump tube, and some $3 flex pipe from Pep Boys or something...just have it directed down to the ground.

I did what degradated said, and got flex-tubing from pep boys for cheap, and just routed the waste-gate to dump out right behind the front wheel. Worked well for me, and got rid of that damn smell...

Also, it never melted my Fal fan, or got my fluidyne all dirty...
(trying to clean the fluidyne while hot made quite a mess, but thats another story...hehe)

having the dumptube routed that way also looked really cool. as you'd approach the car you could see the dumptube...mmm
