DSM injector question??

if i happend upon a dsm in my local yard with the motor actually still in it, along with the clips, what else would i need to get along with the injectors and clips? any certain year to be on the lookout for ? thanks

Look for blue top injectors. They will say 450 on the side of the blue plastic part [very small].

Look for a boosted 5-speed dsm.. I know they have the 450's in them but I dont know about any others..

Look at the bottom of the page below..

you can just use your stock clips if you have a 5th gen. civic.

Otherwise either of the DSM injectros will work. the AT ones have 390's.

sweet write up...ill def hold onto this for future reference.... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif i will be doing this on a 97 civic with a 97 b20 swap, im sure it will work ok. do you need to put those resistors on or can you use a resistor box?

You can run either inline resistors or just run a resistor pack, IMO wiring up the box is so much easier..

Use a resistor box, its much eaiser than soldering in those inline resistors..

93turbo16 02-03-2005 06:36 AM

it is much easier. I also have a how to on my site. http://www.geocities.com/uncgolf25

showing how to wire in the resistor box. I know I suck at paint.

good write up. i can get one of those resistor boxes like from a crx or w/e right? i had a rex with a b16 in it, it was in it when i bought it so i didnt know anything about the car. i know it scooted like the wind though..... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (hybridej7)

I think it's easier to wire up inline resistors than a resistor box...

And it's cheaper, I bought my resistors for like $4 total or something. It's hard to find a resistor box for under $20 or so...

The only thing is... with the inline resistors the car has a hard time starting sometimes... I think the 10w 10ohm resist the current too much... at least that's what I read. Just something to think about. It doesn't bother me much but just something to consider.

As if you wanted another writeup on resistor box install https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif, I've done one and it's on the Knowledge base...just search for 'resistor box'

Heh, if you find a 5sp dsm in the yard. Take the injectors, clips, sidemount IC and the turbo. You'll find buyers for that other stuff... and it'll cover the cost of the injectors.

I got my resistor box from the junkyard for $5.. If its a 92+ civic all the wires to put the resistor box in are already together in a terminated plug..
