Default Do JRSCs whistle?

Hey everyone. I own a 98 GSR and I just found a used JRSC at a great price. My teg is a daily driver and I autocross with it so a JRSC looks like a good upgrade.

One question though. Do JRSCs give you a constant whistle or whine? I'm a newbie with FI and I've never driven a car with a JRSC before. A friend mentioned that I was going to have to live with a constant whistle/whine from the JRSC. Is this true and how loud is the whistle?

My buddy has a JRSC gsr and I cant really hear a whistle or whine at idle or partial throttle. However, at full throttle it really whines. Sounds almost like a rotary engine...to me anyway. If your wondering about the whistling you hear on most domestics, I believe the Vortech charger makes the noise but JRSC doesnt.

It's a whine and it's not constant. Only when you're boosting. Although the sound of the S/C resonating off the cams at idle is a sweet sound indeed.

Hey, a whine at full throttle sounds awsome. My JRSC will not be installed until after the 4th. I hope that I can wait that long. I'll be laying awake every night just thinking about low end torque, instant throttle reponse and rotary-style whine!

I'm sure there are several in-car videos floating around here so you could hear exactly what it'll sound like. Personally, I have like 5-6 vids with the JRSC whine - but no where to host them.

Well, I guess i won't be sneaking up on the competition. That's OK. It will give them something to remember when I blow by em.

It sounds nothing like a domestic blown (roots) V-8. You can hear them and know they're blown from 500 feet away.

JRSC Honda's sound basically like a normal Honda (taking into account whatever intake and exhaust you have) until you get on it. Then it sounds awesome.

I get a lot of young import drivers/ricers coming up to me at autocrosses and drag races and say, "Yo man, that **** sounds tiZZite! You got the sounds set up nice." (or something a little more normal!).

I just say thanks. The sound for me is just the result of the parts I wanted for power.

BTW, a blown Honda with straight pipe is loud at WOT. Really loud.
