Default do i need a fuel rail???

i only plan on making around 200whp on my d series turbo . and i know most people buy the rails for bling , but do i NEED a rail ? i have rc 440's and a walbro 255 pump

I would say no. I believe you stock fuel system is good up to 450-500 HP. Atleast that is what Boosted Hybrid use to say. I think the fuel rail is mainly for bling like you said.

thats what i figured , that if i have a good fuel pump and good injectors that i wont need a rail

ya, unless you want to run -8 or -10 an lines, fuel rails are for show queens

you can bore your stock one larger. hence no new lines

just got a Edelbrok Pro Fuel Lite 5/8" inside diameter fuel rail for free for doing a MPFI to my buddy
and yes once u floor ur car , it will make a difference if u are making more than 175whp i say

I agree with these guys. The stock rail has enough capacity to supply a ton of power. The only reasons I see for upgrading (aside from bling) is the need for a fuel gauge port as some cars have NO way to easily tap the fuel system (5th gen prelude for example). You can also flip the fuel input port to the other side if you wanted to rework your fuel lines for whatever reason.

Yup, I got one because it was easy to add accessories too.. I plan on installing an Aeromotive FPR & SS lines soon and its going to make it a necessity anyways.
