did a search...how is a leakdown test down?
would like to know how it is done and how the tester looks like. i vaguely remember that it kind of looks like a compression tester but, with two gauges.

Suggest that you do an Internet search for "leakdown tester" or "leakdown test" or both. You should find a number of sites with related information.
The best leakdown testers use two gages. One monitors the supply pressure (usually set to 100 PSI). The other monitors the cylinder being tested.
Leakdown tests are the BEST way to evaluate cylinder sealing.
