d16 with a b16ecu
i have a d16z6 and found a turbo kit with a hondata basemap in a b16a p28 ecu
my car is obd1 and has a p28 ecu if i get the b16 p28 ecu tuned to run with my d16 wil i be able to use it? or should i just sell it and look for a ecu that has a basemap for the turbo kit that i got? i am new to the whole tuning part of the car, can someone plz give me a hand, i would greatly appreciate it

If it's got a Hondata basemap in it, it's already chipped. You can load a d16z6 basemap in there. I know there's supercharger basemaps in the SManager program, but can't recall if there's turbo maps. You can get those from the Hondata forums, though.
Don't drive it on a basemap - you'll need to get it tuned, unless that ECU was matched to the kit, and your engine is configured per the kit manufacturer's assumptions (i.e., fully stock).
I haven't started tuning myself, but while optimal A/F ratios are achievable by yourself w/a wideband O2, you'll need a dyno to set the ignition tables.
