Cutting intercooler end tanks off

Default Cutting intercooler end tanks off

Has anyone cut the end tanks off an old intercooler and fabbed new ones?

I am sure many have.

I'll bump this up as I have a nice spearco that has square end tanks and I have given alot of though to replacing them with angular ones.

But for the cost I almost might as well buy a different IC ... as i can't weld alum and would have to pay someone to do it.

How bad are square tanks really? Could it flow any worse than some of the back door style fmics?

I converted my ebay one into a back door intercooler. I cut off the end tank and welded it back.





Kinda funny looking but it'll work!

I cut the endtanks off my Precision 750 and made it a backdoor and a 3" outlet with a cast AL 90 on it. Might be modding it again this year to make it a dual backdoor.
