Default Cp carrillo pistons with vitara rods

Hi , for a d16y8 bloc/y8 head , I have Carrillo pistons, the sc7051 (75.5mm bore & 29.3mm comp height) I want to know if I can fit vitara connecting rods (138.63mm). That would give a Piston-to-Deck Height of -0.037in does it work? has anyone used this setup?

Having the piston sit proud (above the deck height) creates the potential for all kinds of issues: valve to piston contact, detonation from lack of quench area, and dramatic increases in compression to name a few. It isn't the ideal path, but you can add .010" (ten thousandths or so) to your head gasket thickness to create some positive compression height and quench area. You will need an adjustable cam gear so that you can retard the cam caused by the increase in distance between the crank and cam centerlines.

it's right, it's probably better to put 137mm rods and machine the top of block to adjust the piston to deck-height, thank you
