alright i am wondering about the competition twin disc clutch. First of all is it really that hard to drive on the streets with? I mean whats the different as far as driveability from a 6 puck or 4 puck to a twin disc. Also my gsr should be making around 450-500 whp. was wondering if its reasonable.
also was wondering about the noise it makes when the clutch is engaged. Does that go away after it is broken in or will it be like that constantly.
hopefully someone can answear some of my questions. Mind you im not a small person either. i weigh 205 so i dont mind pushing in a stiff clutch.

i have the competition twin disc... the noise is the discs chattering when its disengaged, its normal. it doesnt go away. mine doesnt chatter very much... also its not very hard to drive on the street IMO. but i only drive my car once or twice every other weekend, or at the track.
Do you plan to make more then the power you told us? if you plan to make 600+whp I would say go with the twin disc. If you just want to stay at 450-500whp deff go with a comp stage 5 clutch with a upgraded pressure plate.

I drive may car everyday with a CC twin disk and its not bad at all. You just have to get use to it, just like anything else. I will say this, after driving my car with a twin disk I will never go back to a single disk clutch.
i would say that noise is to annoying if you daily it.. but if your like most people who who just drive there twin disk cars once in awhile its a good clutch
Im actually thinking of going with a twin disk myself. I dont mind the harsh engagement or anything related to that but to those of you who are running a twin cc on your dd have you had any issues with the clutch disks wearing out early/prematurely?
is that something you do just to be on the safe side as a service interval or is it a noticable difference in the way the clutch feels?
nah man it starts getting harder to get it in gear so thats my first indication stop and go on a twin is harsh plus track racing as well i get a full year out of it usually
They have a new hub that I got one of the fiorst sets of... I have yet toi wear it out, and before i was going through 2 a year.. made it through the whole season this year.
The redesign definately seems to be helpng, I woldnt call it a FIX yet as I didnt get many miles on my car this year... But Ive had them fail quicker in the past as well.
The material AND the design are entirely different than the older ones. runsfromdacops and i got a couple of the very first ones. Hes making just shy of 600 im making 750.
