is there a cometic gasket called a "fire ring"?

I am trying to find out what it is made of

I know a guy with a Cometic head gasket on a very custom turbo setup, I thought it might be metal (as I beleive many turbo head gaskets are)?

Anyone?

not part of the Cometic MLS gasket
