cold weather and fuel
I just recently moved from texas to ohio and i am having some fuel problems....boosting at 12psi, full fuel and ignition build, fuel pressure 50-55.....ran great in texas....week later in bitter cold ohio getting fuel cut at 4000rpm....temp related i am guessing but i dunno...anybody know about this?
Explain "fuel cut". Does it feel like the rev limiter? Does it feel like misfiring?
My guess is that the fuel in Ohio is of lower quality. I have been to some places that mix 10% ethanol into the fuel year 'round.

feels like a limiter....and i dunno about the fuel quality, i usually pump shell...wouldn't that be the same mix all around the U.S. I lived in FL too for a while and didn't have a problem
well you should know that as it get colder, you will need to add more fuel to maintain the same AFRs. I dont know what this 'cut' your running into is, maybe some bad knock?
should just be the weather....ran great the week before...nothing has been changed since...i will just go easy on it until april i guess.
Could be that you are hitting boost cut (if you have hondata). Fuel in Ohio has nothing to do with that, it's just as good/bad here as any other state. The severe cold does mess with wastegates though. I have the same problem in winter, so I turn my boost down 1psi and it helps.
Dayton huh....i'm up here in findlay just 2 hours up I-75...not running hondata, just emanage...hondata coming spring 05....im internally wastegated w/ no boost controller yet, spring set at 12psi....trying to get my hands on a used manual boost controller until i have enough for the greddy profec b.

Hmm. It is certainly possible that you are maxing out the duty on the injectors, running close to knock, and the ECU is yanking timing. That's what happens in my car.

just using a manual adjustable regulator turned with an allen key and a pressure gauge...electronics are greddy emanage like i said but i don't know much about how the fuel is mapped on it. still learning, try not to flame me too much.
I'm not trying to flame, but a lack of knowledge will deff. hurt when owning a turbo honda. You need something that will be able to better tune your car for the setup/conditions. Use uberdata, crome, hondata, aem tec. etc. And if your not going to be tuning yourself, (probally not) you will have to find a decent tuner in your area to do it for you.
