Cam cap bolts stretching
I ordered 10.9 bolts from mc master. They have plenty of tensile strength.
You dont want to use a bolt that exceeds the strength of the aluminum. Id rather snap the bolt than pull all the threads out.

Bumping this thread. Just ran into this same situation. Trying to torque the new zinc bolts and just stretched 2 trying to torque to the recommended 20 ft lbs. anyone found a fix for this? Or just torque to a lower 16-18 ft lbs?
Older bolts, especially ones that have been torqued quite a few times, may yield just before the proper torque setting. If you buy brand new OE Honda bolts, and you still stretch a few before reaching the target torque spec... your torque wrench is likely out of calibration and you are torquing heavier than advertised.

Did you read this thread or just reply? There are more than a couple others confirming new (yellow zinc instead of black) OEM cam cap bolts can stretch at 20ft lb and has been a known issue. A lower tq spec is the solution at 16-18ft lbs seems to be the go to.
