A/C Lines... Anyone have to replace them?

Anybodys a/c line insulation melt from being too close the the manifold? the full race a/c kit looks to be pretty close to those lines.

If you guys did replace them what did you do to prevent them from melting again? possibility of aftermarket lines that are more flexible?

Thanks

yeah i had to replace one of the lines, cost me 120 bucks, shop price. its terrible. your best bet is to put header wrap on the manifold to reduce the temps.

I make a kit that relocates the upper AC line for 3rd gen Integras because that same thing happened to me one day. The insultation was on fire and my oil line was surrounded by open flames.

Not anytime soon. Just go to an AC shop or any shop who can bend custom lines.

they have to be hardlines right? no chance of using anything a bit flexible?

You can use flexible line but its expensive. Aeroquip has a line of AC fittings but they are $20+ bucks a fittings plus the braided line is pretty expensive per foot. You need to use hose rated for R134a because its very line and can permeate through certain types of material.

Good info

it is expensive, but might be worth it just s you never have to worry about it again.

Anyone actually done this setup?
