Default The biggest lesson learned while going FI?

Hey everyone
I'm considering building an EK turbo hatch, and I was wondering what some of the biggest lessons are that you've learned throughout your whole FI experience.

Redundance is a good thing.

i.e. own a beater, have a 2nd motor in reserve, etc.

That's what a number of people have told me. So I figured I would buy a CX or DX EK, then buy a new engine and build it while I drive the car around on the old engine, then switch them when the new one's ready.

Do everything right the first time. Spend the extra time, it pays off in the end. Keep things basic. If you think you are going overboard on something in FI, your probably just doing the bare minimum to make it work properly.

Research, research, research! it pays off to do your homework. do a search on topics related to turbo charging. Theres an abundant amount of info that is very useful.

For the price of the mods I put into my car I could've bought a used race car and trailer.

I'll never build a car with new parts again.

try to buy new and cheap where ever possible. but most of all take the time to do it right the first time or you WILL have to do it again. wait........ the biggest lesson learned boost is addictive so watch the boost gauge and keep the A/F at 12.0 in third the sky is the limit!!!!!!!!!

Biggest Lesson Learned: DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Half of the **** that people profess online is complete BS. Make sure you do YOUR OWN study, and don't just listen to ONE side of the coin...

For installation have someone who has done it before show you how. I didn't, and had to learn as I went. Took me 3 weeks to install the kit...

edit: grammar!
