I was reading through some of the archived posts on rod bearings and replacing them etc., Im have no clue what size bearings I need. Im not taking the crank out of the car either. What size bearings do I need? And any tips on installing them while the crank and motor are in the car would be helpful also.
as far as i know there is no way to tell w/ out dropping the pan and looking to see which colors you need.
unless you went w/ ACL bearings which from what i remember are somewhere in the middle and work just as good imo.
as far as installing them youll have to drop your dp, pan and get at them from the bottom. alot of people say that the bearing near the tranny is impossible w/ out actually removing the tranny but if you use a long screwdriver you can flex the crank a little and slip that sucker in there.
you can email earl on here, he sells ACL bearings and will give you all the tech advice you need.
