Default Backdoor intercooler fitment

Just a quick question about back door IC's.

1. will it work with a stock del sol si radiator, no A/C, Full race mani, sc50? any cutting?

2. Anyone know how much of the bumper support i would have to cut for a spearco intercooler, backdoor style with a 24x8x3 core size? 2.5" piping.

Also, anyone know if having the BOV on the IC is bad concerning rain, dirt and **** that will be going its way?

do you have it already? If you do, hook it up and see if u need to trim any off. I have a PWR 20x8x3 on my Sol and i didn't have to cut any of it

You shouldn't have to worry about debris and stuff messing wtih the BOV in that position. There is a guy here in indy who has the full-race setup with that intercooler and hasnt' had any problems.

i had to cut a **** load to fit mine.

bumper support- gone.
half the bumper- gone.

^^ fudge, do you know what the dimensions of your IC are? i thought and 8" hieght would be ok, or with minimal cutting?

I think his is 11" tall. I had another pwr 8" IC and it fit perfect with bumper support.

this is the tall one FR sells. i think its the 11. i dont remember. its the stage 4 size.


took a lot of tweaking, but i finally got it pretty straight....

we sell two versions of the backdoor intercooler, the smaller IC is 8" the larger is 11".

Both intercoolers require that you cut the bumper support. here is a picture of the 11" intercooler on a stock 95 civic bumper support:
