Default B18b, do I need to retune??? help please

I blew up my old engine( which was leaking oil) and in the process of getting another LS engine,,,,my question is,,,,my old setup was tuned at 10 psi, so for the new engine if I turn the boost to 8 psi myself without professional tuning is it going to be fine or not?????

your help is appreciated

i would think the tune would not be off by much but i'd definitaley at least take it to the dyno or throw a wideband on it and make sure it's safe.

How did your old one blow? If it was from a poor tune then youll only be hurting this motor too.

It was leaking oil, not from the old tune because it was tuned by a professional tuner on a dyno

I would take the trip to find a pro tuner. You cant skimp on stuff like tuneing. If you get the new motor in turn the boost down and drive to a tuner. Its better to go through a hassle to get it tuned than go through the hassle of blowing anouther motor.

So your motor blew from leaking oil? My buddies motor leaks oil but it has 200,000 on it? Please elaborate. Also is it the same turbo setup? If so You should be good, just get a wideband and make sure the A/F is safe and the timing is conservative.

Re-tune it. What engine management are you using?

get a wideband and check it for yourself and see if the a/f ratios are good with it, if you dont have a tuner close. and if they do suck well then you now have a wideband and you saved yoruself the hassle and expense of having to swap in another motor. just my .02
