Re: b16's quest for 800whp
What was your best time @757?
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
are you still going to keep the head stock or port it out a bit?
what cams & fuel setup? in for the results |
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
the head is completely stock with gsr cams in it
also i never ran the thing with that power the most was 26psi and about 670whp i trapped 149mp with a 10.6/ but i always have had short track issues. i have went to a differant traction bar setup as well as from aem v1 to s300 |
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
Will be watching this one as I'm after a similar goal with the small block, do you have a graph for the old setup?
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
Keep us posted I have an 84.5mm b16 stock port b16 head with valve train and blox a cams with a gt40r top mount on the dyno at 35psi the car makes 667hp and 397tq at the track it can get up to 40psi the fastest the the car has go with the 40r is a 9.7@153 at 38 psi before my intercooler end tank cracked

Re: b16's quest for 800whp
Damn Sanman, thats some numbers I want to see also. Looks like all our B16s are looking promising.
Any estimated time for dyno? |
Re: b16's quest for 800whp

Re: b16's quest for 800whp
on a stock valve train? don't think you could gain a lot by opening her up a bit in the head?
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
What made you leave the aem? Why not upgrade to the v2 itss 650 right now with the exchange program. Way more features over the s300
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
im not a tuner and simplicity is better in my world lol
stock valve train with upgraded springs had made 757@32 its not a matter of doing this or that to make gains its point of you can do it on a basic build some people are quick to do this or that because someone tells them they need to when they didnt have to at all. stock heads have made 850+ |
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
Nice, very nice
Am I right in thinking you're running a hyrdo box with cable and a CC twin? How was this working for you? |
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
its a hydro case with the cable set and a exedy twin
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
One year later did you get your 800hp goal?

Re: b16's quest for 800whp
At least upgrade the valve springs, especially with that much pressure pushing against the valves.
|
Re: b16's quest for 800whp
797 is what it says in his sig. Saw in another post hes still on gsr cams.

Re: b16's quest for 800whp
A good port like 4Pistons CNC outlaw port and a good set of cam would definitely make more power... especially with the power he's already making.
to a point he would also see much more midrange, depending on cam profile as well as much more peak power at lower pressure levels. he's basically at the limit of the gsr cams and the stock ports. hence why going to a larger turbo and more pressure didn't really see a large increase in power. granted when you're making 5 times the power of the stock motor every extra hp takes a lot of effort to produce reliably |
