avgas
does anyone know of a problem running aviation fuel in our cars?? vs race gas... I know it is leaded and bad for O2 sensors, but is that the only downside?
I can get it for about $0.25 more than 93 octane here and it is 100-103 octane... I am thinking about buying a 50 gal drum and running it 50/50 so I can run more boost on the street without having to worry about not having good enough fuel...
one guy I know told me he ran it in an 8 sec mustang, and it didnt work verry well under acceleration, he said it only worked well under sustainded steady throttle (i.e. highway driving)?? I cant imagine why?
leme know what you guys think

is the octane of the avgas rated the same as the stuff for cars? cars are RON+MON/2. RON and MON are 2 ways of measuring fuel's ignition properties. aircraft engines are always under steady state loads, so the fuel may be refined for different properties and no good for driving.
We used avgas for some support equipment in the navy when we didn't have diesel around.. and the thing's would smoke like a mother.. not good for your car.. stick to automotive approved race gas or highest octane you can find and octane booster..
