I don't understand why you would want to boost a car with an auto tranny?!

Not everyone has the money to change trannies, or wants to...

The turbo kit should work with an automatic or manual transmission the same...there is no reason why it shouldnt...

The turbo isnt working because you didnt install it right. Simple as that, tranny has nothing to do with it. Redo the whole thing and start over.

Ok so have you already installed the turbo and it isnt working or you were told it wont work??

If you have already installed the turbo and it isnt working very well it might be because your MAP sensor is reading the boost, so your ECU is putting you into limp mode or something...

I agree with you that not everyone "wants to" but imo if I was going with something that geared towards performance I would want to get the most out of it... On that same note if you have the money for turbo, doing a manual swap wouldn't be that much... you can pick up most manual tranny's for dirt cheap.

do a search....an auto, whether boosted or n/a, is much more consistent at the strip than a manual when built right. I've got a b16 auto in my ej that I'll be boosting shortly and while I love driving manuals I'm keeping my car an auto....to each his own.....

I had an auto tech teacher that swore by boosted autos. He said he got much more consistant time slips with an auto than a manual with the same set-up.

I guess i'm a little bent at automatics... you brought up a valid point! I've just had too many problems with autos and I'm finally back to driving a manual and I just love it!

We're not ******* mind readers. What exactly is the PROBLEM? Be specific. You can't just write, "My engine isn't working. It must be the suspension."

Boosted autos are great if their turbo 400s or powerglides or lenkos (sp?, it's late). Honda autos do not like boost. There was a guy running around texas with a turbo B18 sol. He swapped out his auto tranny several times and had one fully built, and it still failed. He eventually just went with a manual.

It'll work for a while and it will be killer consistent for bracket racing. But one of these days, you'll be getting a tow bill when it takes a **** on you.

actually an utomatic turbo is priceless for rolling races..the changes are so fast in the tranny that it keeps boopst more that changing with a manual tranny

I knoe a dude here with a 1.5 Toyota Tercel and he runs 13.8 with an auto tranny

I have two turbod civics. One is auto and the other manual. What's your exact problem I don't understand. My auto has held up to a year of driving without any problems.

yes it's very consistent and just as fast and quick as a manual. i would be worried about breaking it cuz mine gave out after only about 3 months but i drove it hard all the time.

Well, I have heard that since you dont move your foot off the gas that your dont loose boost in between gear changes.. Although I would rather have a manual with a full throttle shift setup because I hate auto's, I have heard this from other people..

If I had an auto in my car, the first thing I would do is the manual swap..

Id suggest asking a friend who is more fluent in english to help you translate to the board. You arent telling us what the problem with the turbo is. The transmission has nothing to do with engine output. If your tranny is blown, you turbo should still work without problems.

Beefed up auto trannies are by no means slower than a manual. Many drag supras run with autos and are faster.
