He needs b16 ones. He has a b16 block and an itr head which is the same casting as a b16 head

Exactly what I said earlier. So then why wouldn't type-r and b16 studs not be the same?

I think I am starting to confuse myself here haha

haha,, thanks guys!!! the funny thing is I did so many swaps and so many frankensteins before... but its just been a while since I actually cracked open and engine up and forgot what goes where.. I believe I use to follow the rule,, go by the head and I was usually right but this time was the first where an "integra head" was actually the same as a "civic head" so it really through me off,, best example,, ls/vtec,, ls block,, gsr head,, we use gsr studs,, ls block, si head,, we use B16"civic" studs,, but this time,, Integra Type R head,, we use B16 studs cause itr heads dont follow gsr or Integra "specs" but it follows "b16" specs or casting... but anyways,, I ordered a set of B16 studs and let the monster engine building begin.. I call it monster cause this is actually the first block that I had pistons and rings and rods put in... Hoping to push 350-400whp on a greddy turbo kit @ 18-20psi... Thanks again guys!!

Haha i agree. I really think it doesnt matter either way. There both going too work b16/b18 they will work. Whether or not you want too base off youre block/or head is youre choice.

because the 1.8 blocks have a taller deck than the b16.

but why does deck height matter? do the studs sit lower in the block? i assume all the blocks start threading at the same level so it depends on head height

do 1.8 blocks start the head bolt threads farther into the block?

and yes b16 and itr has the same casting so b16 headsteads will work perfect
