Default anyone ever heard of doing this??

my friend has a 2000 si with a drag kit on it and he dissconnected the vtec... he said his car is faster then before ... is this tru? i was thinking about trying it on my gsr with a turbo kit on it to see but, if its pointless or will harm the car i won't do it please help...

Dunno if this is correct, but theoritically you should be able to up the boost when you disable Vtec right? Dont flame me.. just a thought!

I seriously doubt it, lets see, program mode and low lift cams versus full ECU operation and high lift cams? what do you think?

Yes, I'd like to know the same thing. Some guy said his car was actually faster w/o vtec, also said that he started losing boost while in vtec. Anyone ever tried this out for sure, results? TIA.

try it out, unplug the VTEC solenoid.

all i can say i made 390hp with out the vtec engaging and 584hp with vtec engaging.

You will always lose a little hp when the cams change over.
