any way around the e-manage cable? usb to serial?

Default any way around the e-manage cable? usb to serial?

i have the e-manage software and just need a cable. was wondering if you could use a regualr usb to serial cable? or do you HAVE TO use greddys cable no matter what? is there any way around it? thanks

Unfortunately, for the most part, you cannot. There was a workaround for it, from a specific company for a specific cable, but I DO know that you cannot just use any USB to serial cable with the system

anyone else have any more info on this? specifically speaking, why is there absolutely no way around this cable?

i just cant get myself to pay $110 for a stupid cable. i mean you can get the program and instructions all over the net for free.

Because for him it is rather time consuming to create the workaround. The regular cables don't work because of the internal portion of the data cable is completely different to that of one you can find in Radio shack. Belkin Industries came close to the one used by Greddy E-manage, but I believe it was the signal voltage that was different. There were some wire cross-overs that needed to be altered inside the interface of the cable that needed to changed.

I think $50 is a fine deal. Sometimes you just have to get over that fact to boost well, and get something to go ahead and drive.

Or. You can always sell the system, and get something else.
