Default Another t3/t67 dyno

Well, I tyned my car last weekend.... the green lines are 11.5 psi, and the red lines are 13 psi.

What do you all think?

setup: benson sleeved, 81mm b18c, 9:1 cp's, full-race manifold, dp, turbo. Still using a stock GSR IM with secondary plate removed.

Seems about right compared to mine. need to get the tuner to work on it a little though. get the curves more linear

your tq is better then mine too, but mine doesnt drop off.

Not sure on the corrected/uncorrected #'s... but I used PFI's dyno.

Forgot to mention that this is on 91 octane. Alto, my IAT's were hitting ~120ish (+/-5) at the end of a pull because my lower radiator hose touched my charge pipe for ~1 ft

very good numbers though. im sure they would be higher if you were closer to sea level.

What was interesting is that when I would make a pull at the 13psi level, the first time I did it, you could see detonation in the torque curve. (16.5 total degrees timing). When the iat's dropped from 125 to 115 ad the end, the detonation went away. Perhaps I just got some really bad gas...?

Still.... 403 is good for 13 psi, right? I would think so....

Can you update me on this? Any increase in performance? Dyno graphs?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't have any before/after graphs. This is the first time I've dynoed this motor with this turbo setup. I was afraid the IM was going to be a big bottleneck... but from the graph above, I don't really think the GSR IM is a problem.

#'s look good. Can't wait to get mine dyno tuned at around 25 psi.

the numbers are very good for that PSI. the detonation is still weird for that amount of timing , thats super conservative. even for the octane level. Thats just my opinion though. IM not a tuner, i just keep an eye on things and try to learn as mine gets tuned. isnt it possible to detonate from being too conservative?16 degrees total timing is really retarded. not like window licker retarded, but im sure you know what i mean

It looks like the turbo started spooling right around 4500-5000k is that correct.

Yeah, I started at 18 degrees and backed it off to 16.5, and that helped... kinda strange. ~12.4 AFR all the way across (boost comp BABY) Could be a bad batch of gas maybe... I might try to richen it up some more again

FOrSfEd: I'll try to get the graph with RPM instead of mph... I let off at 8500 in this graph, so I thiink it was around 5k

I think that the 91 octane and 12.4 air fuel may have a little to do with it. If you had a 12.0 and some 93 I don't think you would break up like that.

I'm also stock bore... 81. What's your bore 206?

Well, I think that before I hit the dyno again, I'm going to setup my knock table and then richen it up maybe another point (~11.5:1) and bump the timing back to 18.5 and see if the knock value shoots up. If not, then I'll keep that as a base for race gas tuning.

look at your spark plugs, you can tell if you're running too much or too little timing, i know ben strader taught you that.

and i know he taught you better than to run 12.4:1 as well

I killed the car at the end of each run and pulled a plug... they looked OK to me... when the torque curve was showing a little detonation, I could see white at the base of the ground strap on the plug... but after that it looked decent.

You're right about the a/f.... the problem I had was, I've got the AEM gauge uego... and with the o2 gain setup properly, my AEM logs show 10.9:1 AFR... the dynojet AFR read 12.4:1... I don't know which one to trust

Where is PFI located, and what stand-alone are you using? Numbers look great for such low boost! Link us to some pics of your setup, if you can.

PFI is located in Fort Collins, CO. I'm using the AEM EMS v1.11

These are some pics from last season, but you get the idea
