I'm not sure which forum to put this under as it applies to them all, but seeing as the filter is attached to my turbo....
Has anyone used the K&N filter recharging/cleaning kit? How does it work? Does it do a good job getting the filter clean? It's been 15k miles and I need to clean or replace me filter to my turbo - I dont know wheather or not to just replace the filter or get the recharging kit and clean it. Is it worth the 10-15 bucks and my time?

buy an apexi filter instead? more horsepower and NEVER have to clean or recharged the element.

works well. cheaper than buying a new filter too

I have used the cleaning kit before with my turbo. You have to wash the filter, then just spray the oil all over the filter. It is not hard at all and maybe takes 5 min total. It is worth it considering you can keep doing it every 10,000 miles and the filter will last a lifetime.
Good to know - thanks. I think I will just end up getting the recharging/cleaning kit then.

Definitely get the cleaning kit for like $8, rather than buying a new filter for probably 10 times that price. It works well - doesn't look as pink as when you bought it, but definitely gives it a superb cleaning that will get out the dirt. You can see the dirt coming out.
Allow more than 5 minutes. You need to let the chemicals soak in it for at least 10, and after it's washed back out, allow it dry overnight until you spray oil back into it.
