Advantages?
Is there any advantages on using a b18c block instead of a b18a/b block if I'm planning on rebuilding/resleeving and boring the block out to a 2.0L for a turbo setup?
The block itself is stronger...The walls have vertical webbing that adds to the strength of the block...There are additional Oil Passages that include Oil Sprayers used to cool and aid in lubrication of the rotating assembly...The Mains use a girdle to help reduce crank deflection during High RPM speeds...Notice this isn't found on the b16 because of its great Rod Stroke Ratio and not on the NonVtec blocks because of its design to redline at 6900RPM...The Knock Sensor is another advantage...There may be more advantages that are not obvious or I've forgotten...
