your going to need some kinda gearset.... looking in to albins mfactory ppg liberty etc theres tons of options... you WILL need a stronger gearset to play with that kinda power reliably

if the car gets driven like it has 650whp it will break... maybe not today or tomorrow...but it will break

 

my car broke 4th gear on the dyno with only about 450. it was a stock gsr tranny.
it did see 700hp and a couple track outings.

 

Mfactory or Bullhead both have nice gear sets out for high HP cars

 

I think its more torque that breaks things than HP.

heat treating gears isnt a fix... it helps but it still breaks... your mass produced econo box honda tranny isnt designed to hold 450lbs of torque... i started breaking when i hit the 600whp mark i broke 4 trannies within 8 months.. before that i made 520whp never broke a trans in the year or so i was at that power level...

every time it was 4th gear..

 

How long your tranny lasts at that sort of power level depends on 4 things:

1) Installation
2) Transmission Fluid
3) Luck
4) Installation (I put this twice because it is that important. You could build a tranny 100 times before, and still lack the tricks of the trade. In this case, 1+1 != 2)

I will also say this, 500whp on a stock tranny is a ticking time bomb; You never know when it will go on you.

 

what about how you drive it or mounts, what tires and suspension setup.

 

Yup, my bad. Chassis Setup should be number 5, and driving style number 6 List is not exhaustive.....lol

i know heat treating would only help about an extra 70hp im guessing if that

carbon fiber syncros i dnt think that will hold for long wither i want sumthing i can beat on the track all day i will only run about 4-5 times anyway at non event
