Default 6 puck disk cracking off

i not sure if anyone have deal with this before. i have taken my tranny off twice within 6 month and in both of those times my 6 puck disk had some of the ceramic chip off and crack off the disk.. i have replace my clutch disk both times. The car still drives normal. Anyone eles also have this kind of concern..

My ACT did this after about 1000 miles. I had the motor out for another issue and ended up replacing it. I've got about 8k on the new disc and it seems to be ok so far. I figured I would be lucky to get 10-15k hard miles on a pucked clutch.

Its normal for 6 pucks to break off like that. As long as your not missing a huge chunk, its no big deal.

all my 6pucks look like that when i take them out. last year i put about 12k miles and around 25-30 passes on the same 6puck and it was missing chunks the size of my fingernail on the bottom corners of the pucks when i took it out. it still held fine though

This is telling me your all motor car had nowhere near the power you have now with the turbo.

I'm curious if the majority of you have sprung or unsprung discs? I'd bet chattering or just normal [heavy] vibrations contributed to the cracking.

nope, they do the same thing on my sprung discs as they do on my unsprung discs.

So how long is a six-puck usually supposed to last?
