Default 400whp b18

So here's the parts that I will be ordering next week and all the help will be appreciated to reach my 400whp goal.
I have a b18a block but I'm debating if I should just get a gsr block and save money from the oil pump and girdle and lsvtec conversion.
-eagle H beam rods arp 2000bolts
-wiseco forged pistons 8.6:1-8.9:1 (rings,wrist pins,locks)
-ACL bearings
-supertech dual springs/retainers
-OEM head gasket
-stage 4 competition clutch 8lb fly wheel
-gsr with LSD or type r tranny
-victor x intake manifold
-alpha throttle body 70mm
-4 bar map sensor
-1000cc precision injectors
-gt35 turbo
-top mount
-3" downpipe with electric cut out
-golden block guard( or should I even bother?)

Will bring block to machine shop to bore it .5 and hot tank it. Micropolished the crank

Right now I'm running a b17 boosted all stock motor with 440cc at 11psi
Thanks for reading.

400 whp, I hope this wont be your daily driver.

Also try a GSR transmission with a 4.7 final drive.

It'll my weekend warrior/track car. Another thing I was reading up on is the bearings can I use OEM ones?? I have a buddy that works at Honda and get whatever at cost. What other oem parts should I use?? Is my goal doable??

Goal is very doable, though that turbo is pretty large for "daily driving". Regardless of the notion of "low boost", that's way too large for any use like that just for 400whp. Not to mention, a top mount will make response even worse. stick with the simpler exhaust manifolds.

Your transmission is just fine, no need to change final drives, and as for bearings, you Cannot beat OEM. Stick with those.

Should I go with a turbonetics T66 or gt30? Ram horn a better choice then top mount?

Jeez..Do you know how large a T66 is? that's even worse than the GT35. What fuel do you plan to use for 400whp on this "daily driver". Do you want power steering? A/C? please be as specific as you can.

"The Shodan" - I am surprised you are even wasting your time on this one... Did you even read the first post completely?

It's not a DD only on weekends and track days. I want run around 20psi. I'm from Canada and plan to use 93 pump and turn the boost down when not at the track

I guess I was trying to see where his head is at. So far, its far out of reach for the necessity. GT35? T66? Just for 400whp? I'm curious as to why..

20psi on a GT35 or T66 is BEYOND anything controlable for 400whp (it will be much more to a point of destruction). Second, you don't want to go by PSI to measure ANYTHING. What you were doing before was fine. But your'e really in the wrong thinking here.

He needs to stay SMALLER, about 50lbs/ming-58lbs/min.. no larger. But, if he's head up over heels to use large turbos on big top mounts, I suppose I'll let him be.

Boosted lyod if that is you lol Uve joined the right forum. With tuning it'll cost the same to do 350-500whp. The compression is quite low tho why not spool up faster and hit powerband sooner? Start a build thread

Turbo is too big....compression is too low. This one might be a sinking ship

nope not needed. If your really wanted some support u should look into the cncwerx process. But you dont need a block guard for your goals . If not installed correctly block guard can be useless and possibly harmful as it could distort the cylinders.

For turbo I would use garrett gtx3071r, gt3076r both ball bearings or the silver surfer if journal bearings (pm Shodan).

I have a ls block that I want to make a ls vtec but if I can find a gsr block within the week.

Another question I just got a email from spencer he works at Brian crower and he gave me a deal on the BC sportsman rods BC2026 with upgraded wrist pins and cp pistons SC7011. Or should I stick with the eagle rods and wiseco pistons?

Low compression will yield bad off-boost response and will make the car feel laggy unless the turbo is spooled. When you couple that with a turbo that is FAR too big for your goals, you end up with a setup that only produces power from 6000rpm to redline. Instead, I would run 9.5-10:1 compression and a smaller turbo. There are a dozen turbos that will make your power goal but the characteristics of each is more important. PM TheShodan and ask about the Silver Surfer...it might be exactly what you need.

As others have said

Turbo is too big
Compression is too low
Don't need a topmount, it will cause even more unneeded lag, stick to a good cast manifold like inlinepro, or go with a mini ram or ramhorn at most

A good compression ratio is 9.5:1 to 10.5:1. You'll see better off boost performance and efficiency (think mpg) it will alo make the motor more efficient under positive pressure.

A gt30r would be perfect for your power goal and have amazing response characteristics and a broad powerband

Check these out...its a big post, but it proves that you dont need a massive, laggy turbo to make the power you're hoping to achieve

LOWLUDE22 - 25psi

420whp Pump Gas vs. R35 GT-R Skyline

Dyno at T1 Development w/ Silver surfer using C16

Spirited Run after Dyno on Pump gas 93 octane

Californiadad - 24psi-475whp

Bismoto dyno 420whp run with old intercooler

Bisimoto dyno 475whp 91 + meth/water

Fun run w/ 2 bikes at 475whp

Mitsuman95 9.8:1 Surfer on 93 octane

Fun run

driving like a human being

I could've gotten you supertech springs for 135 and a good set of tool steel retainers for 50...

If you wanted the best of both worlds you could use a 2871 or a 3071 and still make 400hp but have mind blowing low end and midrange, basically torque everywhere.
