Will Valve adjustment affect AFR?

I did my valve adjustment yesterday on my ITR internal GSR setup. I set my intake to 0.007in and exhaust to 0.008in. Later that day I drove it and all my AFR's were richer then usual. Im running an Innovate lc-1 wideband with Neptune. So im just wondering if the valve adjustment caused it to change or is something just tweaking.

They were pretty loose. Never made noises but its been awhile since i've adjusted them. After the adjustments all my AFR's were running rich even my idle jumped up.

Weather is not the factor here since the weather has not changed severely. My valves were way off, so its the only reason why I think it affected my AFR.

your clearances would need to be way off...or your running them way to tight....if you were to tight the valves wouldnt close properly and that could cause it to run richer....try going a little looser on the clearances.
instead of 7 intake 8 exhuast try 8 intake 10 exhaust...also make sure the motor is cold....do it in the morning after the car has sat overnight.

Who runs them that loose on the exhaust? The car was sitting all night and day before I even did it. Im running Itr cams so I adjusted them closer to ITR specs.
you run them looser on the exhaust because the exhaust valve stem expands when it heats up. we are talking about thousandths of an inch here...lol
my honda fit actually calls for more then that on the exhaust and its roller rocker.
fyi skunk 2 stg 2 on my built b18c i run 8 and 10.

yeah i know we're talking thousandths of an inch here.
What I did when I noticed it ran rich all across my map:
I subtracted fuel just to see if it would make a difference, not even much. Day after i did that my car started to run extremely lean. Literally it would climb from 14 to 18AFR or so making my car lag. Randomly going uphill at medium load it would do so as well. Its been more of a random issue then constant. I've been trying to add fuel but seems like its not helping. I was reading this thread which you posted in also about some dude running lean on E85 in 4th gear

my **** happens in any gear. Randomly

the only way the adjustment could affect AFR was if it affected the valve timing, the only way that would happen and be noticeable would be if you adjusted the valves by like .010 which probably wasn't the case
I'm gonna bring this thread back. I did a valve adjustment last night and when I started my car, my a/f ratio at idle was sitting at 14.5 instead of it's normal 15.5. I then drove it and my a/f ratios were all sorts of off throughout the rpm range. I tried adjusting my final fuel multiplier and battery offset to bring my idle afr back to normal, and that seemed to screw my tune up even more. Should I just start from scratch? I feel like me making more and more adjustments is just making things worse. This makes no sense why a valve adjustment would screw my tune up so bad. I set my valves correctly. .007 ex side, and .006 intake side. (motor is a b16a). I like to tune my own stuff, but i'm to the point now where I'm so frustrated i'm about to just pay someone to do it for me. Anyh ideas guys? Thanks
