Troubleshooting: Misfire codes after P&P, Tuner1, Valve and Piston swap. Thoughts?
2000 Type R Integra Engine just completely rebuilt. A little polish/porting done to cylinder head. Slightly larger valves and pistons. Skunk2 Tuner Stage One C.A.R.B. legal cams. Engine runs fine but computer states misfiring on all four cylinders. Any ideas ? ? ?

Re: computer codes
Yeah. once you change the pistons, the whole ignition and fuel timing changes. You need management. No stock ECU for you.

Thanks for the replies ... can the 2000 type R ECU be chipped ?

Any recommendations on what new ECU would work well and/or someone in the Los Angeles area who is competent to do the work

Head to the top of the forum. In the grey areas there should be a tuner list to look up in your area. |

No. you must use a pre-1996 ecu and attach hardware to it, attach an eManage Ultimate to it, or go with a different system. 2000 ECUs cannot be chipped.
Head to the top of the forum. In the grey areas there should be a tuner list to look up in your area. And keep in mind, you're in CA, meaning very strict emissions laws. So nearly everything you can do for tuning will be highly illegal in your area if you drive it on the street. Just food for thought, and part of why I'll never live in CA |
