Random Misfire all 4 cylinders
i have a stock 98 civic 1.6 non vtech. it was cold so i started it up and let it warm up something i dont usualy do. came back and started driving, out of nowhere starting missing and stumbling. replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor didnt fix. did my ICM just go out
stop replacing parts guessing its the fix. first, how do you know its all cylinders? pull the codes?
you have no clue if its fuel or ignition related. so first you need to pull the codes and make sure there isnt something more than misfire codes and figure out what cylinders are misfiring. then you can go from there testing spark, fuel...etc.
ive been seeing way too many people just throw new parts at a car and see if it fixes the problem when you could buy some tools, or use the ones you have to figure it out. not only do you save money but you learn something in the process.
download or buy a helm manual and follow the flow charts for the codes you get. without actual data we can only provide possible solutions.
