does anyone have any specific information on the factory knock sensors on honda engines.... specifically D16 and B18 and B20 if it has one in the CRV.

1. Is it a wide range sensor or is it tuned to a specific frequency in the sensor mechanically?

2. Voltage range?

3. Anyone have the factory honda knock sensor circuitry mapped out? (internal to the ecu)

im doing some tinkering with a knock detection box and im trying to see how many vehicles i can get it to work with.

no im not trying to sell stuff on here. this is going to be a DIY effort mostly for locals near me and will be all open source using Arduino (arduino.cc) as the microprocessor and the knock threshold curve will be programmable and based on knock voltage at 8 different RPM points.

thanks, I have seen that page before but i didnt realize that the one honda sensor was on there.

looks like i should be able to incorporate the honda sensors with just a few component changes.

i wonder what the centering frequency of the D series sensor is.

you might be able to get away with that.

i think it could work though. my k car turbo ecu runs a motorola 6803 at 1mhz lol with an external a/d and a 16k eeprom.

only do the essentials and the sanguino could accomplish your goal i think.
